About This Spot

Stepping into Ciao Baby! feels like slipping into the warm embrace of a cherished neighborhood trattoria, where the pace slows just enough to savor each moment. Nestled along Barrington’s lively E Main Street, this intimate Italian spot hums with the gentle energy of families and friends sharing time and stories across tables dressed in simple, inviting comfort. The cozy space fills with the tantalizing aromas of slow-simmered sauces and fresh herbs, sowing a subtle promise of the meal to come.

The atmosphere here is quietly vibrant—a blend of ease and attentiveness that makes you feel instantly welcome. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a small celebration, the rhythm of the room moves with the ebb and flow of genuine connection, where attentive servers anticipate your needs with a smile but leave space for you to simply enjoy the company at hand.

Food unfolds not as a checklist but as a heartfelt expression of Italian tradition touched by comforting familiarity. It’s the kind of place where a plate of ravioli or chicken parmesan feels comforting yet thoughtfully crafted, each bite layered with flavors that invite you to slow down. There’s a rustic sincerity in offerings like rich lamb shanks or a perfectly balanced calamari starter, while sweet notes from a salted caramel gelato or smooth red velvet cake round out the experience with delicate warmth. The option to bring your own pasta shapes or pair your meal with well-chosen wines adds an extra personal touch that speaks to a genuine love of sharing food.

Beyond the food, Ciao Baby! thrives on the intimate, human moments that happen around the table — the laughter, the easy conversations, the shared delight in discovering new favorites. It’s the kind of place where repeated visits feel like coming home, prizing not just the cuisine but the chiming spirit that embraces every diner with quiet kindness.

Amazing restaurant as I highly recommend if you love Italian food. Everything I’ve tried is so delicious. Desserts are delightful too. No complaints.

I relished the delicious lamb chop appetizer served with a rich Vesuvio sauce over Rissotto type rice. The restaurant's aromas were tantalizing, and I could almost taste the flavors of the dishes from the scent in the air! Kira was our server & she was very attentive and a very good server. We will be back!

I’ve been to Ciao Baby twice, and every time I I’ve visited Ciao Baby twice now, and every single time it’s an amazing experience. The food is absolutely exquisite — full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully presented. The service is exceptional; our waitress was so kind, always smiling, and made us feel genuinely welcome. This time I ordered pizza to go, and the chef personally came out to ask exactly how I wanted it prepared — such a thoughtful and professional gesture. Every detail shows how much they care about their customers. I truly love this restaurant and highly recommend it 100%. 10/10 — you must try it!

Small but cozy. Really busy for a weekday. Tried most of the small plates/appetizers. Most of them were very good, the burnt pasta was good but filling.

We had an absolutely fabulous dinner at Ciao Baby! Ciao Baby was recommended to us by a "regular" customer, and they did not disappoint! Kira, our server, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome on our first visit. The homemade gnocchi with crumbled sausage was excellent. We look forward to many happy returns.

Food is excellent. Our server was a little flustered and forgetful with our group. Granted it was a large group so maybe she just wasn't able to multi task very well....
